Workshops were presented to a local elementary school's 3rd and 4th grades. Students worked in teams to draw and paint their boards, with the finished products being auctioned off at the end of the year as a fund raiser for the school.
Oklahoma Barn Quilt Trails help highlight rural communities' culture, history and beauty while promoting tourism and economic development. It helps pull tourists off of the main roads and into small businesses to eat and shop. People of all ages can participate and showcase talents and skills. Barn Quilt Trails promote community pride in the appearance of towns &/or farms and can engage visitors at festivals through Agritourism and other types of attractions established in the area. The effort to develop a foundation supporting a state wide barn quilt trail network began in 2017, through the leadership of the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service.
