(Stillwater, Okla. – Nov. 6, 2012) Reasor’s opened a new grocery store on Oct. 31 in Bixby, Okla., and members of Oklahoma State University’s Robert M. Kerr Food & Agricultural Products Center got a first-hand look at the new store at a VIP event held Oct. 30.

With the new addition of the Bixby store, Reasor’s now has 17 grocery stores located throughout Northeastern Oklahoma.

“Each time we open a store, we wonder how we can exceed the expectations; we did that with the Bixby store,” said Allen Mills, Reasor’s president and chief strategy officer.

According to Reasor’s website, the 75,000-square-foot store, located at the corner of 111th and Memorial, features the finest quality and best value customers have grown to expect at Reasor’s, including sushi, seafood, pharmacy, specialty foods, olive bar and Redbud Cafe to comprise the full-service grocery store.

Mills said the goal was to make the new store better than existing stores, including the Jenks location, which opened in July 2009.

“We raised the bar four to five notches from the Jenks store,” Mills said.

Mills said he’s excited for the whole community to experience Reasor’s and enjoy a store unrivaled in quality, variety, freshness, innovation and service.

During the recent walkthrough of the store, several Made in Oklahoma products were spotted on the store shelves, including Suan’s Foods, Head Country, Griffin Foods, Clements Foods, Advance-Pierre Foods, Bar-S Foods, The Cheese Factory, Red Hot Mamma’s Pickles, Daddy Hinkles and J-M Farms, just to name a few.

“It is Reasor’s goal and desire to offer as many Made in Oklahoma products as possible,” Mills said.

Mills is a member of FAPC’s Industry Advisory Committee and helps support many of the companies that seek the FAPC for assistance.

Reasor’s was founded more than 49 years ago in Tahlequah, Okla. It was a family-owned company until 2007, when Reasor’s became an employee-owned company. Today, Reasor’s has 17 locations and two convenience stores. The company employs nearly 3,000 people in Northeastern Oklahoma.  Supermarket News ranks the company No. 34 on its Top 50 Small Chains and Independents in the U.S. for 2011.
