FAPC faculty and staff recognized at DASNR meeting

Several Oklahoma Food and Agricultural Products Research and Technology Center faculty and staff members were recognized at the recent Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Fall Faculty Meeting for awards received during the past year.

STILLWATER, Okla. – Several Oklahoma Food and Agricultural Products Research and Technology Center faculty and staff members were recognized at the recent Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Fall Faculty Meeting for awards received during the past year.

The awards serve as an example of the outstanding faculty and staff employed by the Center, said Center Director J. Roy Escoubas.

“Each faculty and staff member is dedicated to the work he or she performs at the Center,” Escoubas said. “They are all deserving of the honors bestowed upon them.”

Those members recognized during the meeting include:

  1. Nurhan Dunford, oilseed chemist – Academic Keys – Who’s Who in Agriculture Higher Education, Food Science Student Advisor – South Central College Bowl Champions, OSU Big XII Faculty Award;
  2. Stan Gilliland, food microbiologist – American Dairy Science Association Award of Honor;
  3. William McGlynn, horticultural processing specialist – American Society for Horticulture Science, Southern Region, Extension Publication Award for Cucurbit Integrated Crop Management;
  4. Patricia Rayas-Duarte, cereal chemist – American Society of Agronomy Certificate of Excellence;
  5. Rodney Holcomb, agricultural economics specialist – Class 12 ESCoP Leadership Development Program, 2002 Outstanding Extension Program Group Award for Oklahoma Cooperative Extension’s “Farm Bill Education Program;”
  6. Dani Bellmer, food engineer – Halliburton Outstanding Young Faculty Award; and
  7. Jake Nelson, meat processing manager – 2002 Outstanding Extension Program Team Award for Oklahoma Cooperative Extension’s “Oklahoma Beef Quality Summit Program.”
