Freshmen in Transition (FIT)
Freshmen in the Ferguson College of Agriculture at Oklahoma State University have the opportunity to participate in Freshmen In Transition (FIT).
FIT is a residential Living-learning program (LLP) focused on helping students transition to college. The village provides an atmosphere for personal and academic growth through engagement, service and networking. The program sets expectations important to student success and allows students to foster independence, find new interests, and grow in their academics and leadership development. Students are encouraged to explore and practice behaviors they can incorporate into their college experience and beyond.
Students selected for FIT live with other Ferguson College of Agriculture freshman students and student academic mentors (SAMs). The FIT SAMs assist in building community, coordinate on-going programming activities, and are a key resource in assisting students in becoming engaged and involved in academic, extracurricular, professional, and social activities which promote personal growth and development.
How to apply
1. Login to your Admissions Portal
2. Fill out the Living Learning Program Application
3. Submit the application
4. Wait patiently for a response regarding your placement in the program
Placement in FIT is determined by a competitive process based on a review of the submitted applications. Submitting an application does not guarantee placement in FIT, as spaces are limited. Students must be enrolled in the Ferguson College of Agriculture or University College planning to pursue a major within our college.
*IMPORTANT: Applying to FIT does not replace applying for campus housing with OSU Housing and Residential Life. As a freshman, you are required to live on campus. Student selected for FIT will not be able to select a room until your Commitment Fee and Housing application have been completed.
