Oklahoma State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Alumni Board recently honored Brady Sidwell of Goltry, Oklahoma, as a 2016 Early Career Achievement Award winner at the 2016 CASNR Scholarships and Awards Banquet.

The award is selected by the CASNR Alumni Board of Directors to honor outstanding young alumni who have excelled early in their careers.

“Brady has excelled in his professional life after OSU,” said Brian Vowell, CASNR Alumni Board president. “He has been someone who has had a great deal of international experience and is a tremendous role model for current students to admire and understand that it is truly a global society that anyone from anywhere can have success in if they set their mind to it.”

Sidwell graduated from OSU in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics with a focus on international marketing. He went on to earn his master’s degree in economics at the University of Hong Kong in 2005.

“I am truly honored and humbled to be recognized by the CASNR Alumni Board with the Early Career Achievement Award,” Sidwell said. “I have been fortunate to experience agriculture at a global level that all started with opportunities available right here at OSU. It is an exciting time to be young and in agriculture with a plethora of worldwide options made more accessible through the ubiquity of technology.”

Sidwell is the founder and president of Enterprise Grain Company, Sidwell Strategies and Sidwell Seed in northwest Oklahoma. He also is president and half-owner of Sidwell Farms Inc.

“I really have come full circle,” Sidwell said. “Growing up on a family farm in northwest Oklahoma and then 95 countries later, I am now pursuing an entrepreneurial career from my hometown with various investments in the agricultural supply chain, as well as risk management and marketing. Being back in Oklahoma, I look forward to engaging with students, alumni and our fellow agricultural producers and processors to share ideas and strategies about the future of our industry.”

Previously, Sidwell served as the vice president of global strategy, mergers and acquisitions for the OSI Group. He also served as the head of food and agribusiness research and advisory for Rabobank International in northeast Asia. Additionally, Sidwell worked for the U.S. Embassy Offices of the Foreign Agricultural Service in Seoul, South Korea, and Bangkok, Thailand.
