OSU Agricultural Communications Students Sweep National Contest
STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State University’s Department of Agricultural Education, Communications and Leadership students brought home top honors from the National Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow Critique and Contest at the Ag Media Summit in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
OSU students received more awards than any other university in the contest with 29 in total. For this contest, students submit a variety of communications projects including photography, feature stories, graphic design pieces and news releases.
Among the awards, Jacob Redway, agricultural communications senior, was named National Distinguished ACT member.
The ‘Cowboy Journal,’ a student produced magazine, won first in the magazine division.
“It’s such an honor to win,” said Shelly Sitton, agricultural communications professor and ACT advisor. “It’s really nice to see the hard work of the students pay off - that’s what it’s really about.”
