CASNR 3MT Winners Announced

The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources is pleased to announce the winners of the 2017 CASNR 3MT® - Three Minute Thesis Competition held Oct. 23-25, 2017.

1st Place
Sabra Billups
MS Student in Food Science
Major Advisor - Dr. Ravi Jadeja
Her presentation was titled “Antimicrobial ice Sanitation”.

2nd Place
Conner McDaniel
MS Student in Food Science
Major Advisor: Dr. Ravi Jadeja
Her presentation was titled “Bacteriophages Application in Food Safety from Farm to Fork”.

3rd Place
Kelsy Robinson
PhD Student in Animal Science
Major Advisor: Dr. Glenn Zhang
Her presentation was titled “Gut Bacteria: The Key to Feeding the World”.

Audrey Boeken
MS student in Food Science
Major Advisor: Dr. Peter Muriana
Her presentation was titled “Bacteriocins: A Natural Solution to Fight Listeria monocytogenes”.

People’s Choice Award
Luci Wilson
MS Student in Natural Resource Ecology and Management
Major Advisor: Dr. Gail Wilson
Her presentation was titled “Healing the Tallgrass Prairie”.

19 CASNR graduate students competed for cash prizes and a chance to represent the college in the Oklahoma State University 3MT® Finals, Nov. 15, 2017.

The Three Minute Thesis Competition (3MT) is a research communication contest, which challenges graduate students to present a compelling oration on their research and its significance in just three minutes in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.
