Alpha Zeta initiates new members
The Oklahoma State University chapter of Alpha Zeta recently initiated 51 new members. This organization is an honorary society for students and industry professionals in the agriculture and natural resources fields.
Founded in 1897 at Ohio State University, Alpha Zeta is the first and oldest collegiate honorary society for agriculture. The organization has more than 115,000 alumni and more than 3,000 student members at 74 universities.
The OSU chapter in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources was established in 1916 and recognizes students who not only excel in academics but also embody the mission of the organization of scholarship, leadership, integrity and service.
To be invited to join, students must meet the minimum GPA requirements and be an undergraduate student in CASNR. Pledges attended regular meetings and participated in a community service project known as the pledge project. For the pledge project, the pledges worked with Kids Against Hunger to package over 30,300 meals.
