The annual event serves as a celebration of the students, faculty and staff in the college and as a way to commemorate the history, activity and impact of CASNR on the OSU campus.
Work/Life Balance Discussion via AgChat Apr 25, 2017 Apr 25, 2017 12:00 AM: #AgChat takes place on Twitter, a free social networking and microblogging service that enables users to send and read short messages known as “tweets.” Tweets are 140-character posts sent by each Twitter user to the author’s subscribers, or followers. Each Tuesday, members of the #AgChat community are invited to convene online 8-10 p.m., Eastern for a “streaming” Twitter feed. Chats begin with 15 minutes of networking (please introduce yourself and your interest in agriculture as well as your name, brief job description), followed by questions the community sends to the moderator in advance on the topic of the week. The chat is fast-paced, insightful and, often, colorful. The final 5 minutes is reserved for “pitching.” Participants can plug their blog, site, product or ask for feedback on a business-related idea.

This Institute is open to all college students pursuing agriculture related careers to promote understanding of the Corridor and animal-related career opportunities, as well as to connect industry leaders with future talent. Approximately 90 students are selected each year to travel to Kansas City for this three-day event. The itinerary typically includes area visits to animal health services and business, as well as an organizational overview and welcome by staff leadership. The event also features an industry dinner where corporate leaders and student participants are able to connect and summarize their experiences. Following the day of industry tours, students participate in panels and discussions about various aspects of the animal industry.

An opportunity to serve this season is the second annual Give What You Can intercollegiate philanthropy competition from November 9th - 24th. This canned food drive is Oklahoma State University's first intercollegiate philanthropy competition that raised more than 1,000 cans last year for the Stillwater Salvation Army's Thanksgiving and Christmas effort.
