CASNR Week Sign Competition

Sponsored by CASNR Student Council

1.    Entry Deadline: Thursday, March 24, 2016 before 5:00 P.M. No applications will be accepted prior to 8:00 A.M. Applications must be submitted in the CASNR Student Success Center, 103 Ag Hall.

2. Signs must be placed in the designated area on the lawn of Ag Hall.
a. The CASNR Student Council will have a specific display location designated for each competition entry.
b. Receive instructions from the CASNR Student Council as to the pre-determined location of your sign before staking your sign in the ground. 
c. These instructions will be e-mailed to the designated contact listed on the competition entry form no later than Wednesday, March 23, 2016. Questions about locations may also be addressed to Allison Christian (allison.b.christian@okstate.edu), Hannah Maggiore (hannah.maggiore@okstate.edu), or Kristy Johnson (kristy.johnson@okstate.edu).
d. Entries deemed hazardous by the OSU Safety Department will be subject to disqualification.

3. Signs must be put in place between 2:30 and 5:00 pm on Monday, March 28, 2016.
a. There will be a fifteen-point penalty for tardiness or for putting the sign up early.
b. A representative from each group must stay with the sign until cleared for safety by a member of the Student Success Center staff.

4. Signs must be completed, pre-constructed, and finished by the time they are put up. If a sign is not completed by the time it is placed, it will not be judged.

5. TENT STAKES AND ROPE MUST SECURE SIGNS FROM BOTH THE FRONT AND BACK.
a. Groups must provide their own tent stakes and rope.
b. THE TENT STAKES MUST BE DRIVEN BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE GRASS TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL INJURY.
c. Stakes that are not driven completely into the ground must be covered with tennis balls.
d.  Entries deemed unsafe by the OSU Safety Department are subject to disqualification.

6. Judging will begin at 5:00 pm on Monday, March 28, 2016.

1. A winning sign will be one that shows:
   a. Representation of CASNR Week Spirit
   b. Visual appeal and creativity

The point system is as follows:

Club Representation………………………………………….40 Points (40%)
Original representation of CASNR spirit…………….……...30 Points (30%)
Creativity and artistic design…………………….…………..30 Points (30%)

The winning student organization will receive a plaque and a pizza party for their final club meeting of the 2015 – 2016 academic year.

8. Signs must be taken down by 6:00 PM on Sunday, April 3, 2015. Signs not removed by this time will be promptly removed and destroyed by the CASNR Student Council.
9. Make sure your sign is waterproof!  This means that a protective coating may be needed on the sign.
