Browning Outstanding Freshman Application

In 1995, Dr. Charles Browning, then Dean of the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, established the Charles and Magda Browning Outstanding Freshman Award. The annual award is given to a sophomore student, selected from departmental nominations, who has exhibited academic accomplishment, evidence of leadership, participation in organizations, and who has received honors or recognition during his/her freshman year. Dr. Browning retired from OSU in 1997 having served the Division for 17 years.

Application Deadline

Applications must be received in the Academic Programs Office, 136 Ag Hall by 5 p.m. on January 15. If the 15th falls during the weekend, applications must be received by the following Monday by 5 p.m.

Application Criteria

• Applicants must have been enrolled as a first year full-time students (freshman) in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at Oklahoma State University during both Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 semesters.

• Applicants must have completed at least 24 credit hours in the 2014-2015 academic year and must be currently enrolled as a full-time, second-year student in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at Oklahoma State University.
