The Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service is once again very pleased to offer a summer internship program in 2015 for students interested in careers in Extension.
This program provides opportunities for students to experience Extension work first hand. They will work directly with an Extension Educator in all four program areas including: Agriculture, Family and Consumer Sciences, Rural Development, and 4-H Youth Development. At the same time, county Extension offices gain the benefits of an extra employee for some of the busiest summer months. It is designed for college juniors and seniors, or graduate students, to spend 8-10 weeks working in a county Extension office. Interns will be paid $10 an hour for 40 hours a week.
Interns may come from any major in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources or the College of Human Sciences. Interns may also come from other colleges such as Education or Social Sciences, but students with majors relevant to Extension work are preferred.
For more information about the internship program, please refer to one of the attached forms: Intern Application and Internship Frequently Asked Questions regarding the OCES Internship Program. For more information, go to the Staff and Program Development website at http://intranet.okstate.edu/staff_development.
All intern applications should be sent to Joyce Martin Sherrer at joyce.sherrer@okstate.edu and will be due in the OCES Staff & Program Development Office (255 Ag Hall, Oklahoma State University) on or before Friday, December 5, 2014.
