Latinos in Agriculture Conference Scholarship Sep 18, 2015 05:00 PM
The Latinos in Agriculture Leaders Conference will provide a forum to bring together industry, education, government, and future leaders (students) to continue the dialog in exploring ways to improve Latino representation in Agriculture and related industries. The scholarship will cover the expenses of the conference aside form the cost to travel to Grapevine, Texas. The application is due September 18. The conference is set for October 16-18.

Truman Scholarship was created by Congress for those who intend to pursue careers in public service, defined as employment in government at any level, uniformed services, public-interest organizations, nongovernmental research and/or educational organizations, public and private schools, and public service oriented non-profit organizations.

The American floral Endowment (AFE) is now accepting applications for the new Altman Family Scholarship, and the Paul Ecke, Jr. Scholarship, for graduate students who have the skills and passion to become leading floricultural scientists and educators. The application is available online and the deadline is Feb. 1.
National Collegiate Landscape Competition Nov 06, 2015 05:00 PM
Since it’s inception in 1998, the National Association of Landscape Professionals Foundation has generously rewarded students whose schools have been actively involved in the National Association of Landscape Professionals. Southwest Park and Recreation Training Institute Graduate & Undergraduate Scholarships Nov 23, 2015 05:00 PM
The Southwest Park and Recreation Training Institute provides some of the best quality and value in education, training, and networking opportunities for parks and recreation professionals. Student scholarships are awarded to outstanding students preparing for a career in the park and recreation profession. The scholarship will be a cash award in the amount of $1,000. In addition the Institute provides registration, with room and board for the award recipient to attend the Southwest Park and Recreation Training Institute.

The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and its academic departments award more than $1.4 million in scholarships to incoming freshmen, transfer students and continuing students enrolled in the college. College-level and departmental scholarships in CASNR use a common online scholarship application. Applications are due Jan. 15.

The Oklahoma Association of Conservation Districts is proud to announce that applications are now being accepted for the first annual "Mike Thralls Memorial Scholarship." Thralls was an unwavering steward of the land who loved Oklahoma and was committed to preserving her natural resources. Thralls was a graduate of Oklahoma State University who went on to serve as Oklahoma Assistant Secretary of Agriculture and Executive Director of the Oklahoma Conservation Commission. In his memory, OACD will be awarding two $500 scholarships beginning in February 2016.

Ann Ryder and Clara Smith Women's Faculty Council Leadership Endowed Scholarship for Undergraduates Feb 01, 2016 12:00 AM
This scholarship is designed to help undergraduate students who exhibit strong leadership ability and scholarship and who engage in activities in support of women’s issues. It is designed to help successful students who might otherwise not be able to finish their education. It is named for two grandmothers of Dr. Melanie Page, a former OSU faculty member. Dr. Page was inspired by these women who were strong leaders in their lifetimes, and created the award in their honor. Hopefully the award will inspire other students to become strong leaders. Women’s Faculty Council is the co-sponsor of the endowment, as the scholarship is designed to encourage those students who are involved in women’s issues. The award is for $1000.00, to be given for the fall, 2016 semester.

This scholarship is being offered by the Public Lands Foundation, a national non- profit membership organization incorporated in 1987 that advocates and works for the retention of America’s Public Lands in the public’s hands, professionally and sustainably managed for the responsible use and enjoyment of American citizens. The GPNSS has established a student research award in honor of Kevin Honness, whose remarkable outlook on life and passion for wildlife was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. Max Barth, Jr. served on the Harper County Conservation District Board from 1974 – 2005. Max had a passion for conservation and one of his top priorities was to support all conservation youth activities. He was an avid supporter of the Land Judging Contest, Resource Awareness Scholarships for teachers and many, many other conservation and educational events. Many times, Max would sponsor teachers and students out of his own pocket to make sure everyone had the opportunity to attend any conservation class or event. The Harper County Conservation District would like to honor Max and the Barth Family for his dedication to conservation by offering a $500 scholarship to High School Seniors or college students that are residents of Harper County. Applications due May 1.

Syngenta announces the launch of their annual national Syngenta Agricultural Scholarship program, available to U.S. land-grant university students currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degrees in crop-related disciplines. Students must submit a 750- to 1,000-word essay on a topic chosen by Syngenta. Applications accepted until May 26, 2016.
