Get Involved
Throughout the year, there are various events that are of interest to CASNR alumni and friends.
Fall
CASNR Roundup
CASNR Roundup gives new students their first taste of the Cowboy Pride held by CASNR. During the event, students mingle with alumni, faculty and upper class members to discover how to become involved. All CASNR student organizations use this event as an opportunity to contact the future leaders of their favorite student association. The event is organized by the CASNR Student Council with a meal provided by the CASNR Alumni group.
CASNR Homecoming Celebration and Alumni Annual Meeting
Once a year, during homecoming week, CASNR Alumni meet to celebrate those who graduated 10, 25 and 50 years ago.
Spring
Seniors of Distinction Awards
Each spring semester CASNR, with the support of CASNR Alumni members, acknowledges outstanding seniors within CASNR who have accomplished extraordinary achievements in the areas of academics, leadership, scholarly activity, community involvement and career development.
Early Career Achievement Award
CASNR prepares its graduates to succeed at the highest levels of their career path. The Early Career Achievement Award recognizes two CASNR alumni who have found early success in their careers.
DASNR Access Tour
The DASNR Access Tour is designed to give alumni, students and faculty the opportunity to explore the various facets of agricultural life throughout the state. The access tour is a two-day event scheduled during late spring. In the past the attendees have visited locations such as Braum’s Ice Cream and Dairy in Tuttle, Windmill Farms in Woodward, and the Noble Foundation in Ardmore.
Year-Round
Dinner with Five Cowboys
Dinner with Five Cowboys events are opportunities for five current students to dine with alumni/industry professionals and learn about their career paths, life lessons, and OSU and CASNR experiences. “Dinner with Five Cowboys” events provide the ideal informal, small-group networking opportunity for students. Each event is promoted to all students enrolled in CASNR.
Students apply for the opportunity to join a specific alumnus for dinner, and five students are selected based upon that application process. Alumni interested in hosting and sponsoring students for a “Dinner with Five Cowboys” event, simply need to schedule a date, time and location with the CASNR Student Success Center, complete and submit a brief biographical questionnaire, and prepare to share their experiences, advice and a meal with current students. To schedule your “Dinner with Five Cowboys” call the CASNR Student Success Center at 405-744-9464
