2019 CASNR Scholarships & Awards Banquet
CASNR awards more than $330,000 in continuing student scholarships at annual scholarships and awards banquet
STILLWATER, Okla. – The Oklahoma State University College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources awarded more than $330,000 in scholarships to nearly 150 students at the annual CASNR Scholarships and Awards Banquet March 28. Others also recognized included students, faculty and staff for their accomplishments and contributions to CASNR, as well as alumni for their success in the industry.
Outstanding Senior and Freshman Awards
Sage Becker from Keota, Iowa, recently was named Oklahoma State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Louis and Betty Gardner 2019 CASNR Outstanding Senior. Becker was recognized at the annual CASNR Scholarship and Awards banquet March 28, where the college awarded more than $330,000 in scholarships and recognized student, faculty and alumni leaders.
Cathy Mapes named CASNR outstanding freshman
Cathy Mapes from Alva, Oklahoma, recently was named Oklahoma State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Charles and Magda Browning Outstanding Freshman for 2019.
CASNR Faculty Awards
Penny Weeks, professor in the department of agricultural education, communications and leadership at Oklahoma State University, was recognized with the Award for Excellence in Teaching at the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Scholarships and Awards Banquet March 28.
Wilson honored with Excellence in Graduate Student Advising and Mentoring Award
Gail Wilson, Sarkeys distinguished professor in the department of natural resource ecology and management at Oklahoma State University, was recognized with the Excellence in Graduate Student Advising and Mentoring Award at the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Scholarships and Awards Banquet March 28.
Jon Ramsey, associate professor in the department of agricultural education, communications and leadership at Oklahoma State University, was recognized with the Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Advising and Mentoring at the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Scholarships and Awards Banquet on March 28.
John Michael Riley, assistant professor in the department of agricultural economics at Oklahoma State University, was recognized with the Early Career Award for Excellence in Teaching at the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Scholarships and Awards Banquet on March 28
