George Lea Scholarship
This scholarship is being offered by the Public Lands Foundation, a national non- profit membership organization incorporated in 1987 that advocates and works for the retention of America’s Public Lands in the public’s hands, professionally and sustainably managed for the responsible use and enjoyment of American citizens. This scholarship is for students majoring in a natural resource or public land policy curriculum, with an interest in public land management.

Geospatial Summer Fellowship Program
The Geospatial Summer Fellowship Program provides students with opportunities to explore the use of geospatial information science in higher education learning. This six week online program includes hands-on GIS and remote sensing training, webinars and a course project (estimated at approximately 96 hours). Upon completion students will receive a laptop and stipend.

Great Plains Natural Science Society scholarships
The GPNSS has established a student research award in honor of Kevin Honness, whose remarkable outlook on life and passion for wildlife was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. The Kevin Honness Memorial Scholarship will award a graduate and undergraduate student member of the GPNSS $250 to assist in their educational and research endeavors. Applications are due March 31.

Harper County Resident Scholarship
Max Barth, Jr. served on the Harper County Conservation District Board from 1974 – 2005. Max had a passion for conservation and one of his top priorities was to support all conservation youth activities. He was an avid supporter of the Land Judging Contest, Resource Awareness Scholarships for teachers and many, many other conservation and educational events. Many times, Max would sponsor teachers and students out of his own pocket to make sure everyone had the opportunity to attend any conservation class or event. The Harper County Conservation District would like to honor Max and the Barth Family for his dedication to conservation by offering a $500 scholarship to High School Seniors or college students that are residents of Harper County. Applications due May 1.

Applications are available for students interested in applying for the Harry S. Truman Scholarship. The Harry S. Truman Scholarship was created by Congress for those who intend to pursue careers in public service, defined as employment in government at any level, uniformed services, public-interest organizations, nongovernmental research and/or educational organizations, public and private schools, and public service oriented non-profit organizations.
