AFA Food Institute

If you are interested in learning more about what it takes to get food on your table, this Institute is for you! What happens after the raw ingredients leave the farm? From production and processing to R&D and marketing to packaging and everything in between, AFA Food Institute delegates are sure to leave with a broader picture of the food industry. CASNR Outstanding Senior Award Application

Each spring semester the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources acknowledges outstanding seniors within CASNR who have accomplished extraordinary achievements in the areas of academics, leadership, scholarly activity, community involvement and career development. From submitted applications a committee of CASNR faculty, staff and administrators selects a group of senior students to be awarded recognition as CASNR Seniors of Distinction, and then selects from the Seniors of Distinction the Dean's Award Winners and the CASNR Outstanding Senior awardee. Applications for the CASNR Senior Awards become available each November 15 and must be submitted on or before January 15.

Browning Outstanding Freshman Application

In 1995, Dr. Charles Browning, then Dean of the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, established the Charles and Magda Browning Outstanding Freshman Award. The annual award is given to a sophomore student, selected from departmental nominations, who has exhibited academic accomplishment, evidence of leadership, participation in organizations, and who has received honors or recognition during his/her freshman year. Dr. Browning retired from OSU in 1997 having served the Division for 17 years.

Frank D. Lucas Policy Internship

Congressman Frank Lucas has represented Oklahoma's Third Congressional District since 1994. The Third District is one of the most culturally, socially and ethnically diverse in the nation. Congressman Lucas serves on three U.S. House committees: the House Agriculture Committee, the House Committee on Financial Services and the House Committee on Science and Technology. This internship is designed to enable students from the OSU College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) to work in the United States House of Representatives on policy issues associated with Congressman Lucas's committee responsibilities. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on January 25 in 136 Ag Hall.

NSF-REU Summer Research Program at OSU

The university is proud to announce the summer research experience for undergraduates this coming summer! The program's focus is Biological Basis of Human and Animal Behavior. The project is funded by the National Science Foundation.The goal of this program is to provide 10 undergraduate students with an in-depth, hands-on research experience focused on the biological basis of animal and human behavior. Students will be trained in the application of the scientific method to develop hypotheses, design and conduct research studies involving either animal or human subjects. Applications due by March 4.

The Syracuse University Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Research Program is a paid summer research opportunity that provides undergraduates with the opportunity to work with distinguished faculty and staff as well as network with others in their field of interest. Student scholars have the opportunity to conduct and present research over a ten-week period under the direction of a faculty research mentor at Syracuse University.
