2019 LOGO MIGRATION

There are plenty of new, exciting changes happening for Oklahoma State University this summer. With the announcement of the University’s brand migration, there also are many new logos and updates to be made. Agricultural Communications Services is the Division’s guide in this time of change. We are here to help answer any Division-specific questions about updating your department or unit to be consistent with the new brand.

The Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources is systematically implementing brand updates during this summer/fall season. You will receive notifications from Agricultural Communications Services as the updates are made. In the meantime, we understand you may have questions regarding the changes occurring and have included a list of FAQs below.

If you have questions or concerns regarding the brand transition that are not answered below, please contact Amanda Jones-Treadwell at amanda.a.jones@okstate.edu or 405-744-4081.

LOGO UPDATE FAQs

  • When can I start using my department’s/unit’s new logo?
The logos that are available on Logo Farm are approved for use by Dr. Coon and Brand Management. New logos may be implemented by your department or unit as soon as you have downloaded the appropriate files.
  • Will we receive a budget to migrate our logos to the updated brand?
No – the university has not given a budget for this transition. At this time, there is no need to throw away old materials or order new ones until you run out.
  • I downloaded the logos for my department/unit from Logo Farm. Which logo should I use?
The primary logo for general use is the full color, black text wordmark included in the logo download for each unit. We have included the full color, white text wordmark and single-color black wordmark for applications with special circumstances. For more information, view our Logo Download Guide on Logo Farm.
  • What if I need an updated logo, but the logo is not yet on Logo Farm?
If the logo for your unit or program is not on Logo Farm, submit a request using the Logo Request Form. A member of Agricultural Communications Services will be in contact with you to make sure you receive the logo you need.
  • A printer/vendor has requested a logo file that is not a .png format. Where can I find the correct file?
To streamline the download process from Logo Farm, only .png format logos have been uploaded for general use. If you need an alternative format for a printer or a vendor, please use the Logo Request Form to request the file you need.
  • Can I still use Helvetica or Arial? Has the University’s primary font changed?
The University has changed the brand’s primary font to Gotham Narrow. Since Gotham Narrow is not available on all computers, an alternative font is being determined. In the meantime, continue to use Helvetica, Helvetica Neue or Arial for internal work and other non-public facing documents. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Amanda Jones-Treadwell at amanda.a.jones@okstate.edu or 405-744-4081.
  • Can I use Pistol Pete with my updated logo?
Pistole Pete’s usage will be specifically notated in the University’s updated style guide, coming soon. In the meantime, keep in mind Pistol Pete is a secondary asset - not a primary logo. If you want to use Pistol Pete in your materials, please remember Pistol Pete often is associated with athletics and must never be used to replace the OSU logo.
  • Will there be a Division-specific style guide?
The Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources will have a Division-specific style guide to aide consistency of our visual identity. Agricultural Communications Services is working with Brand Management and Dr. Coon to assemble a cohesive and helpful guide through brand migration, projected to be available this fall.
  • When will updated templates be available?
Agricultural Communications Services has developed a strategic plan to assess and update each set of templates for the Division. The templates will be updated through the fall, with changes made to fit the style of the new brand.
  • I’ve seen avatar/profile photo changes on Oklahoma State social media accounts. Is the Division moving forward with the University’s avatar template?
Agricultural Communications Services’ social media team is working to create approved, consistent avatars for the Division’s social media accounts. The social media team will provide updated files before school starts. Until you have received your updated files, continue using the avatars that currently are in use for your social media accounts.
